Industrial Sound Level Alarms

Protect your critical infastructure with high-quality, low-voltage sound alarms.

About Us

McLennan Sound Monitoring Inc. has been manufacturing sound level alarms in Oregon since 1999 to provide a robust and reliable sound monitoring solution for our customers. These units have been used in almost every application imaginable, from farming to monitoring pressure build-up in gas well-heads.  Over the years we have listened to our many customers, who have given us insight into their needs, and we have added several practical features. We are a small corporation that believes in a quality product at a reasonable price.

The Mini-Mac Sound Alarm

In 2017, McLennan Sound was asked to design and manufacture a more simple, less expensive sound alarm, rather than the full scale sound monitoring instrument.  We did, but we also kept the quality and reliability. McLennan sound believes in educating our customers before they invest so they are fully aware of the product they are purchasing. If there are questions, please call or email

These units are great investments.  They have saved us thousands of dollars.  Management wants to use them where ever possible… just makes sense!

Gas Industry Engineer (20+ Years Experience)

It is good to know how loud healthy music can be.  Sound Alarms can help,  and be very useful setting a limit-cap for too loud.  Enjoyable music, live or recorded,  does not have to be too loud.   Too loud is unhealthy.

Example Applications

These sound alarms can be used in hundreds of applications.  Configure them to detect a certain decibel level and it triggers a powerful 5 amp signal to a 240v AC relay. Powerful enough to drive a 400 amp switcher, the possible applications are endless.

Gas Wellheads

Our sound alarms have been used to detect the sound caused by pressure build-up in gas well-heads.

Roof-Top Landing Pads

Detect when helicopters are landing on the roof and automatically close air vents to prevent fumes entering the building.

Water Monitoring Plants

Monitor the sound of pump motors for an early warning when the motors become clogged.
